I'm cleaning the bathroom and I hear my son's voice calling me from the other room. It's that sightly urgent, but not quite an emergency voice. "Mom! MOM! MOM!" (me) "What's up?" "Do you like rectangles?" (me) "Well, um, sure. I never really thought about it." "Oh. Okay." The end. So where did that come from? So what's your vote on the rectangle issue? Are you pro-rectangle or pro-trapiziod? Now, remember, this could be important in the next presidential election!...

When my son was in his cute phase (yes, he's still cute, but a 4 year old cute is different from a one year old cute) I blogged about the funny things he did because HW was in Iraq...and Korea....and BNOC. But since HW is here, I haven't been motivated to blog about the kids as much, after all he already knows what's going on. But now baby girl is getting into the cute phase (13 months). Due to some random events, I had the morning to be with her alone. I can't think of the last time I...
I dont' really want to kill my computer but I am having EXTREMELY irritating problems with it. I don't know where the problem lies and I need help. I have Vonage and get phone service without interuption, so I know the modem and router are working fine. But somewhere between the router and the computer it all goes to heck. The computer says I have a LAN connection, but I can't access the internet. The only think that works is turning everything off and rebooting....to include unpluggi...
Today is my birthday! WHA HOOO!! Actually, make that more of a "whew." Birthdays aren't as exciting as they were when I was a kid. Somehow as you get older, the magic slips away. Maybe it's knowing that you have to budget for your own birthday gifts takes the thrill out of it. All things aside, it is a wonderful day. HW got to come back from the field to be with me (WOO HOO!-that makes 3 birthdays together in 9 years!) That has been one of the nicest things that I could get to...
From this..... to this..... MMMMMMMMMM.......yummy homemade strawberry jam on the right and on the left, "Triple Berry with a kick" Making jam isn't nearly as difficult as it seems. You just need fruit, pectin and a whole lot of sugar! Thanks to mom and Mamie for teaching me how!
So I've been a bit dissatisfied with my yoga teaching positions as of late. I have been led on about classes that "will be added any time now". I really would like to teach somewhere that is sincere about promoting the yoga and pilates programs. (I also want daycare which means teaching at a gym.) So I'm applying to Gold's Gym. That's right ladies and gents, Gold's is coming to Killeen! But I'm not qualified for the job (or so the rumor mill says) Apparently they want people certif...
Do you make New Year's Resolutions? If so, what are they? Do you have any that you never accomplished? I know that some people refuse to make goals jsut because it's a new year, but do you have ny non-new year specific resolutions that you are working on? I've had the same goals since I was 15. Lose 15 lbs, be more organized/less messy and learn something new. The first two are still works in progress. I just keep resetting my goal from 160 to 150 and now to 135 (that last ...
As I sit here munching on a homemade chocolote cookie, I am reflecting on my achievements of today. For some of you, it may not seem that interesting or impressive, but let me continue anyway, because I feel cool As some of you know, we own a rental property just off Fort Hood. It was a great idea until 9/11. Now soldiers are deploying frequently and breaking the leases. The lost rent has been eating into our savings steadily over the last few years and last month we decided to sell. (J...
For those who don't know, I am a cancan dancer.....We have been debating costumes for Wild West Night and faced with 2 choices. Option one: Spend $110 (+$74 in extras) on a high quality, figure flattering costume OR Option two: a cheaper ($80+$49 in extras) costume that is neon pink and less flattering. Neither option is particuarly easy on the wallet, but we jsut found out that we do not have to pay for them AND we are getting the nice costumes! WooHoo! I'm excited, so here is ...
When I heard that the American Athieists are suing Utah over crosses marking the spots where HP have died in the line of duty, I was floored. We are not talking about an athiest sueing because a family member was memorializd with a cross....no, they are concerned that a non-christian may be offended to see the cross and blah blah blah.... I'm astounded. I'M OFFENDED! Maybe I should sue them.... Anyway, here is a bit of background on this case and the overused phrase...."separation of c...
