With all the discussion of the riots in France, I have seen a few sides. 1) It's their own fault for being French. Burn Baby Burn. 2) It's their own fault for letting so many Muslims into France. Burn Baby Burn. 3) It's their own fault that they let so many Muslims into Fance and then forced them to act French. No wonder it's happening. (Burn Baby Burn seems optional on this one) I will withhold my opinion on the BBB option, but I do want to throw something out there. Muslims W...

How many of you have been accosted in your own homes by an earnest teen (or adult even!) who lies to you? I get them all the time. Today for example. Young 18ish kid comes to my door. "Hi M'am, how are you doing this fine day?" Holds out hand to indicate I should open the door and shake his hand. I leave the door shut. "Are you selling something?" "No, no M'am not at all! Who do I have the pleasure of speaking with today?" (What? Give you my name AND address? do you think ...

I am so so frustrated. I can't decide whether to scream or cry. (just to note, I did cry when I realized what happened) I know it isn't a big deal to some people and I'm probably overreacting, but I guess it's just the final straw for me. Or maybe I'm hormonal....hate to admit it, but it's true. I took some wonderful pictures of my son playing in a rubbermaid container as a pool in our backyard at the end of September. I thought I downloaded the photos, but I wans't really worried about...

So how is it that you are supposed to start a story? Not a cutsy "once apon a time" story, but the, "you had to be there" kind. Oh yeah, I remember. "No shit. There I was..." (Yes, this is that kind of a story) Anyway, so, no shit, there I was, sitting in the outfield of my son's kickball game. I'm hoping to avoid the fire ants while still getting some good shots of his team playing. It's about halfway through the first inning when I hear it. RRRRRIIIIPPPPPPPPP. I carefull...

I'm posting some shots from a Halloween party...kind of a run-through for the real deal. I'm realizing what I need to do to fix our costumes. This is my first attempt at making costumes for my kids. I have a few things to fix, My daughter is Tinkerbell, but I need to work on finding a better method of getting her wings to stay on. and here I am in my sari. not the best photo of me...but girl is cute! And last but most certainly not least, is someone dressed up at Captian Hook fight...

I got this email and I thought I'd post it here. I can see a few big flaws in this idea (mainly dealing with my husband's work schedule) but it did make me smile....Enjoy! ********************************** THE LAW IS THE LAW So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it. And if that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be...

My son is very good at justifying his opinions. Just the other day, I walked into the living room to see my boy doing a headstand.....while, um, hanging out in the breeze. Yup, that's right. He decided that the best way to do a handstand was sans underwear. Here is the discussion that followed. Scene: Upside down boy with big grin and no sense of modesty whatsoever (probably my fault) "Hi Mommy! Look at me! I'm upside-down!" With eye rolls and a sigh, "Boy, you need to go p...

Once apon a time, some children were abused. Dad hurt them and Mom made them cry. Someone called CPS and a nice lady went out to talk to mom and dad. Dad said, "Everything's fine. See the food." Mom said, "I love my kids" They said, "you can't come in without a warrent, but you can see the kids are fine. All these people say so." The lady goes away. No proof, no warrent. "I guess it's okay." she says. "I'll leave them alone." Later, the kids were hurt some more. Then one ...

After delving into the darkest regions of my past, I couldn't get to sleep. So here I am, trying to clear th cobwebs away. There is part of my life, where I had just entered into foster care and my life blurred. I dont' remember a lot of that time in my life. There are a few events that really stand out. But for the most part I have let that part of my life fade away. I was so scared and so unhappy that I did a lot of things that probably made everything worse. I was a troubled chi...

Does anyone have a suggestion for a free place to host a website? I'm sick of Geocities because the site crashes whenever too many people visit. I wouldn't mind paying for a place, but I hate to put out a bunch of money and effort to discover.....that it sucks. Any suggestions?
