i just read one of cs-guy's articles on racism. Check out the link here. Link reading about the "racism" in entertainment, it made me think about other cases of "enpowerment" that boil down to racism. Humor me for a minute because this is a subject that really gets under my skin. For Example: Why is it okay to have the NAACP but "racist" to have "National White Guy Group"? Why is "Curves for Women" okay, but a "Men only Gym" not? Why do "minorities" qualify for grants etc ...

I have a question for all you golfs out there. (I would have called you greywar, but I lost your number-and you never answer anyway) Rumint has it that KPs are going not going to be tactical after 1 Oct 05. The tactical will be handled by reservists.....Has anyone else heard about this? If you dont' want to post here, feel free to email me.... Link

Dharma commented on my last article and it brought to mind an incident that occured a few years ago. When my son was one, my mother gave him a Elmo Alarm Clock that would play the Seseme Street theme song for the alarm. *roll eyes* Of course my son figured out how to turn the music off and on. Hw would sit and play the first line of that stupid song over and over. Finally, I stuck it in the garage so I could have some peace and quiet. That night at about 3 am it goes off. Echoing thr...

HW insisted that I blog this. I think he is trying to get me back in the habit of writing. I have a hard time sitting still long enough to think of topics, much less flesh out a full joe. He, on the other hand, will write a blog and then reread it, edit it, save it and redo it all the next day.... All that aside, this joe is about a little home surgery....It had to be done and I didn't have the time or patience to wait for someone else to take care of it. Our sweet baby girl has ...

Today I had the chance to listen to Handel's Messiah. It's one of my favorite pieces of music to listen too, especially at Christmas. (I love all of Handel's music) It's such an intense score, with such a powerful message behind it. If you are not big on Classical music, you may want to listen to this live....the feeling when the orchestra begins and then the voices are added is amazing. The coolest part was that Lady Cleve had a jaw dropping solo. I do have to say she was one of th...

So after reading an article on hobbies by dharmagirl, I was inspired to write on why I'm inspired to write. I never thought of myself as a writer, much less one that would put her thoughts out for anyone to judge. I wonder why I am driven to write. It occured to me that it's the same reason I love to scrapbook. I've always been facinated by photos and the stories that lie behind them. More than just the who, where and when of a picture, but the memories that are invoked by seeing that ...

Last night was the first time we have been able to go to a ball since 2000. It was so much fun to doll up and get girly. Most of the time, I am a jeans and t-shirts kinda girl (or yoga wear) so it was fantastic. I'm posting a picture of my hair. I LOVED it. I timed my haircut to coincide with the ball and at the last minute decided to ask my stylist to curl it. I never have the patience to do anything but a quick straighten and now I wish I'd learned how to do my own hair, because this...

Okay, these were completely ridiculous, what kid needs hot pink gogo boots?! I actually bought these over a year ago! She loves them and wants to wear them all the time. I had to fight with her to get her to take them off to sleep! She hates to walk and throws a fit if we won't carry her, but these must be magic boots because now she wants to walk everywhere!

I've been putting my kids to bed earlier so we can get adjusted to the schedule that we will need for school. Gone are the days of setting my alarm for 6:30 and sleeping in till 7 if I am tired. I already miss the days of having children sleep till 7:30 or 8, leaving me with a leisurely morning to myself. Now, it is a race. If I am not up and moving by 6:30, I am awakened by two wiggly, giggly children. Normally this isn't a problem, but they seem to think that the best way to show lov...

I saw this commercial and it brought back memories of pre-9/11 training in the Army. I was a medic and when they ran low on dummy rounds, they just told us to "pretend". So we spent 30 in the desert yelling, "bang bang" and "Hey! I Hit you!" at each other. Of course, opfor didn't have a supply issue....and we usually lost." I don't know if training has improved, but out of the two years of training before deploying to Bosnia (where they did shoot at us) I never once had actual (blanks)...

So after a sillly discussion with my husband, his mom and sister.....I started craving crepes. So today, I whipped up some bananna crepes. yum. HW said they looked fantastic.....except HW doesn't like cream cheese....does anyone have a good recipie for crepe fillings? PS Alternate titles (courtesy mom, HW and mamie) Don't give me any of your Crepe! You are so full of Crepe. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! For those who don't know, I am a cancan dancer.....We have been debating costumes for Wild West Night and faced with 2 choices. Option one: Spend $110 (+$74 in extras) on a high quality, figure flattering costume OR Option two: a cheaper ($80+$49 in extras) costume that is neon pink and less flattering. Neither option is particuarly easy on the wallet, but we jsut found out that we do not have to pay for them AND we are getting the nice costumes! WooHoo! I'm excited, so here is ...

I am fairly motivated to learn how to do something so I don't have to pay for it. *a cheapskate* For Example: I got a job as an orthodontist's assistant so I wouldn't have to pay for braces. The fact that I didn't know what I was doing didn't stop me....I just wrote up a very impressive sounding resume and convinced him to train me (so I could skip the 2 year school). Instead of paying for braces, I conned myself into a job that provided me with free training and certification, fre...

Shameless self promotion...go here and watch.... Link Have you ever written a check or made a credit card payment for some trivial amount? Did you just roll your eyes that you had to swipe a card or write a check for $2? Well, I just topped that. I paid an 'e-bill' to Home Depot for ONE FREAKING CENT! I just recieved a late payment due email and was confused. I paid off the account already.....well, I paid off all but one freaking cent. That's right, I made the last payment and did...
