In part one, I discussed how my cars tend to turn into large magnets the day I pay them off. I mentioned a few accidents that I have been in....Here are some of the lessons that I learned. I have been in no less than 6 accidents that involved deer, although I have never been the driver. My record is three, count 'em 3 "deer vrs the car" encounters in 2 weeks. First my mom hit a deer while I was in the front seat. The next day, my dad gave me another close look at using animals as a bra...
Some laws of attraction are unalterable. Blonde bimbos flock to rich old guys. Scrawny geeks are addicted to role playing games. Fat chicks can't stop eating chocolote. Army guys are repeatedly drawn to foriegn countries. And my car attracts large metal objects with lots of kinetic energy....especially when I just paid it off. This makes car number 3 that has been hit just after the last payment. My 2003 Honda CRV isn't the flashiest car around. I thought that fact might reduce...
A friend of mine started a conversation about doctrinal details with me. We both agree on the basic essentials of Christianity and salvation if you get it down to the bare bones.....but there are lots of details that are not agreed on or understood by many people. We had a wonderful discussion about many different topics...baptism, validity of the bible, parables, etc etc Niether one of us was vindictive or trying to push our opinion on the other. We were just trying to understand other p...
I just realized that I am now past the 100 article mark. Pretty amazing. i also noticed that I am not writing as frequently anymore. I used to get up every morning and write. It was easy to get up and get moving because I went to be fairly early. I had no reason to stay up, so I went to sleep at 9 or 10 every night. I woke up lonely and went in search of IMs from my husband or blogs from Joeuser. I vented my frustrations (so much so that I tended to sound pretty whiny sometimes) a...
Sometimes you suddenly realize just how much your children have grown. Sometimes it is the big events like starting school or graduating that stand out; other times it's the little details. HW's unit rented out a waterpark for the welcome home celebration yesterday. My son, who just turned 3 a few weeks ago was excited but a little aprehensive at the sight of the waterslides. He thought everything was amazing and cool, but he wasn't sure about actually going down the slide....until we w...
My son, who just turned three is incredibly competitive. Amazingly so. Here is a typical morning conversation... Me: "Good Morning. I love you!" Boy: "I love you FIRST!" Me: "Well, I love you too." Boy: "I love you TOO FIRST!" What a great feeling to know you are loved that much!
I am currently typing this with my eyes closed, opening them only every few sentances to check my spelling and so forth. Why am I leaning on my ability to type without looking you may ask? Because myt eyes hurt so freaking bad that any light....especially that from a computer monitor is incredibly painful. This doesn't happen to me very often but it scares me very very badly when it does. One day I just wake up and poof. my eyes are bugging me. It gradually progresses untill I am having...
After a typical Army delay....HW was reunited with his family late last night! Details to follow....but for now, I just want to be with my sweetie!
It is facinating to listen to a child...especially one with the attention span of a gnat! This morning I woke up and was headed to the computer to check my email before the kids woke up and I noticed that my son's bedroom light was on. He was halfway through getting dressed in his favorite spiderman outfit. This is fantastic because he can get dressed by himself...I suspected that he could do it and was happy to see he finally caught on to the idea that Mom doesnt' have to do everything!...
My friend's 12 year old daughter was given a reward today in Science class. She is in 8th grade and 12 years old. What do you think the reward for doing well on the test was? Candy? No. Less homework? Not that either. A movie..."Saw" Link If you haven't seen this movie, I have heard that you probably don't want to. Disturbing images of gruesome death, dismemberment, violence etc. etc. I rented it for the school board to review during a meeting tomorrow and printed up severa...
I am soooo glad that I'm not quite this bad.... Link

So today our daughter learned to control her hands and actually hit what she was aiming at....we have toy bar that dangles over her head and plays music if you hit the toys. She stared at it intensely, looked at her hand, looked at the toy and very deliberately swatted the toy and laughed when she was rewarded with music. She repeated this for almost 20 min...getting better with her aim as time went on. It was priceless.
I love him...what else can I say?
My pedestal. I love it. It has become a very special part of my life. Even though I don't really think about it, I couldn't imagine life without it. My pedestal is perfect. It's comfortable. Roomy enough for me to share with the man of my life. (He likes to put me up here) but, I'm not so high that I am afraid to fall. I'm just high enough to feel special. See, the thing is. I never had a pedestal of my own before. in fact my view of the world was from a very different perspec...
