So, I definetely have to give everyone a big thanks for making adding photos so easy.  In honor of that....here is the girly girl!     She is very, very happy to have her dad wandering less and home more.  I was playing with some textures ...

So all week long, my DH, the wanderer himself, has been an the verge of being giddy. That's right. Giddy. He has bailed out on an awful lot of V-days in the past and he had cooked up something amazing for me. He was obviously very proud of himself because he kept mentioning how I was going to get something "sparkly". Anyone who knows me knows that while I will wear jewlery, I am notorious for having chains break or earings fall out.....usually in direct relationship to the cost of th...

She loved her brother's cards so much that she wanted some too.....here it is, pre-lollypop. the names have been removed to protect the innocent. (so I can blog about it without having her name on the photo that is visible to strangers)....hence the fuzzed out section in the bottom corner.

Every year, swarms of kids exchange overpriced cards with cartoons on them. I just don't like the options....So here was my ingenious (imo) idea for a unique valentine's day card for my son to take to school..... Doesn't make much sense, you say? Well here is the finished product...with treat. Woo Hoo! Cool points for creativity! Lost a few points for using All-mart to print the pictures (notice how they cut off the red border? It was exactly 4x6...punks.) Maybe I'll sta...

Happy birthday BFD! Hope you have a wonderful day! For everyone out in Joeuser land, I'd like to take this opportunity to say that BFD is one of the greatest guys I've ever met. I could wax elouquent about his many talents and skills but I'm actually not that good at waxing elouquent....suffice it to say that he is a stablilizing factor on a great number of people and his influence has affected many lives. He is a great man, deserving of much more than I could give. Thanks fo...

Yawn. I am so so tired, but I have so much to do. I really just want to crash and take a nap. But I have so much to do! ***************** above was written this morning. Since then I have.... * registered a car for HW...it's a yellow Ford Aspire with nifty flame jobs on the sides. It's ready to go, on-post stickers and insurance too. *I also took glamour shots for a girl whose husband is deployed. * I babysat a bunch of kids *worked out for 2 hours *failed to fold my ...

I just got a birthday box in the mail....thanks to BFD and Mama Charlie! I recently bemoaned how I must be an adult because I was excited about getting a real life, frost-free freezer. Yeah, I was happy. Too happy. I must be an adult. Actually, it's probably about time. My birthday is tomorrow. I have less than 2 hours left of being in my 20s. I suppose I am an adult.... But back to the issue at hand. Mama Charlie sent me a rockin' cool box. She sent a cookbook full of reci...

So while HW isn't home yet, the big push of 1st Cav Soldiers is going on. Every day there are new flights of soldiers reuniting with their families. I spent my Sunday morning helping a few people welcome loved ones home. Even though it wasn't my reunion, I have such strong emotions when they announce "Welcome Home!" and the buses pull up. I confess, even thinking about it can make me tear up. *note to self: buy waterproof mascara for the next flight!* Anyway, here are a few shots. ...

WHAT THE *&%($@&%????? I was following up on a friend's blog this morning and when I saw what she posted I just about lost it. She cut and pasted a clip from Democracynow. (see below) NSA: “No Attack Happened” in Gulf of Tonkin Newly declassified documents have provided more evidence the Johnson administration faked the Gulf of Tonkin incident to escalate the Vietnam War. The alleged 1964 attack on U.S. warships by North Vietnamese was used as a pretext to ...

Somehow I was extra productive yesterday. I'm not sure why. I've had a hard time getting motivated since I went to Alabama (the only State that has a statue in the middle of town honoring a BUG) but yesterday, I got moving right away. It probably had something to do with the fact I did NOT get on the computer till after I did my chores.... But I digress, as a mom....I rock. I made homemade bread yesterday and it was fantastic. I had to force myself not to eat the whole loaf. This morn...

So I haven't posted a good kid article in a while and I realized that if I don't write it down...I forget the cool stuff. So here's some for each of them. Girl has been sick. Very sick. The amount of snot coming out of that kid is astonishing. I understand why she felt so bad. My sinuses are in revolt and I dont' even have a fever! So the sinus drainage was making her sick to her stomach and cough non-stop. She sat on the couch with a box of tissues and every few minutes, she would b...

I love Christmas...everything about it. I love the music and the lights, giving gifts, spending time with friends and family, decorating, mint m&ms (only at christmas!), the food, everything. I love the spiritual meaning behind the celebration, but I love the magic of the season for the kids. I love how my son really believes in Santa and thinks that Santa was hired by James Madison. (long story....but J.M. is his favorite president) I confess, I even love how stores start decorating in ...
