That's right ladies and gents, Life Happens will be performing in the circus! If you happen to be in the Austin area on Saturday, October 20th, you can see her LIVE for one performance only!!!!! ***thundering applause**** So when I came home about 20 min ago, there was a message on my answering machine from J-Bird (of trapeze-experience.com) and he reminded me that there will be a performance show on Saturday (5:30 pm at the Crossings, if you are in town) and then...... ......he...

but how hot can I be when my ride is tricked out with 2 carseats in back? Actually this joe was just to 1)fulfill HW's request for something new...and 2) to announce that I am back in trapeze!!! Woo Hoo! I have to take it easy...I have school and work and work and the other work and being a mom to worry about and the incredible $$$$ that it would cost, but I can treat myself once a month. But since I snagged a nifty gig today and made a cool $100...I'm headed down this weekend!...

Imagine if you will..... A sad, dejected look on a normally cheerful face. Big blue eyes blinking away tears. Heartbreaking music filling the background. Are you feeling sympathetic? (If not, go look at some puppies and come back) I received sad news today. I will no longer be able to trade massages for trapeze lessons. One of the instructors is now dating a physical therapist who lives closer....and I can't afford fly time without trading. *insert sad face here* I hav...

So I have danced can can for several years. Sometimes we get good costumes....and sometimes not. They have been black and purple, Hot pink and neon yellow, too-revealing in pink and black, and most recently peacock blue. We have bought cheap costumes and expensive costumes, but as in most things...you get what you pay for. The "Big Bird" Feathered-$79 The $120 Costumes This year, we were told they are *gasp* $22! I think they expected us to jump up and down, cheering that we save...

I've been putting my kids to bed earlier so we can get adjusted to the schedule that we will need for school. Gone are the days of setting my alarm for 6:30 and sleeping in till 7 if I am tired. I already miss the days of having children sleep till 7:30 or 8, leaving me with a leisurely morning to myself. Now, it is a race. If I am not up and moving by 6:30, I am awakened by two wiggly, giggly children. Normally this isn't a problem, but they seem to think that the best way to show lov...

I saw this commercial and it brought back memories of pre-9/11 training in the Army. I was a medic and when they ran low on dummy rounds, they just told us to "pretend". So we spent 30 in the desert yelling, "bang bang" and "Hey! I Hit you!" at each other. Of course, opfor didn't have a supply issue....and we usually lost." I don't know if training has improved, but out of the two years of training before deploying to Bosnia (where they did shoot at us) I never once had actual (blanks)...

So all week long, my DH, the wanderer himself, has been an the verge of being giddy. That's right. Giddy. He has bailed out on an awful lot of V-days in the past and he had cooked up something amazing for me. He was obviously very proud of himself because he kept mentioning how I was going to get something "sparkly". Anyone who knows me knows that while I will wear jewlery, I am notorious for having chains break or earings fall out.....usually in direct relationship to the cost of th...

Every year, swarms of kids exchange overpriced cards with cartoons on them. I just don't like the options....So here was my ingenious (imo) idea for a unique valentine's day card for my son to take to school..... Doesn't make much sense, you say? Well here is the finished product...with treat. Woo Hoo! Cool points for creativity! Lost a few points for using All-mart to print the pictures (notice how they cut off the red border? It was exactly 4x6...punks.) Maybe I'll sta...

Happy birthday BFD! Hope you have a wonderful day! For everyone out in Joeuser land, I'd like to take this opportunity to say that BFD is one of the greatest guys I've ever met. He is a great man, deserving of much more than I could give. Thanks fo...

Long story short...military health care can suck. Just imagine a rant....I'm not up to doing it justice. The kids are outside enjoying a warm afternoon. I was taking a *well deserved* nap on the couch after church and Girl asked if she could play outside. I grunted a yes without opening my eyes and told Boy to go out with her. I can hear them playing, so I'm not really worried about it. I can hear them playing 2 different games at the same time. Girl keeps asking Boy, "Do...
