Hallelujah!

Today I had the chance to listen to Handel's Messiah. It's one of my favorite pieces of music to listen too, especially at Christmas. (I love all of Handel's music) It's such an intense score, with such a powerful message behind it. If you are not big on Classical music, you may want to listen to this live....the feeling when the orchestra begins and then the voices are added is amazing.

The coolest part was that Lady Cleve had a jaw dropping solo. I do have to say she was one of the better soloists. I was amazed when I heard her sing. It's not that I didn't think she could...I was sure that she would do a great job when I heard she got the part. But I didn't expect to hear such a powerful voice from such a mild mannered person! I suppose Ive never known anyone who really possessed a talent like that. I was impressed by not just how beautiful her voice was but her presence as well. She looked so confident and even sounded much taller than she really is!

So if you ever have a chance to see her sing in person...I highly recommend that you do. It's a wonderful experience.

And on another note. I met her SO: SPC Nobody Special. Seems like a really nice guy. He sang too! So congrats to both of them on a job well done!

I am sooo sooo jealous...........you've met the people you blog with!  I've got as far as phone calls (little whip really does sound like janis joplin, btw)...but that's it.

I'm glad you enjoyed Handel, though.  It's one of my favorites.

Thank you, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the concert, and ecstatic that you were able to be there, period. It helped alot to know that there were friendly, familiar faces in the audience. I guess I hid my nerves well.......

That's actually kind of how I got hooked on blogging. I knew Greywar and a few other individuals in real life and my hsuband was constantly reading the blogs durring his midtour from Korea. One thing led to another and I decided to give it a try! I'm glad I did. I have met some really wonderful people!

Thank you, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the concert

Don't forget...you have to use your talents for teaching and singing to coach me for next year!

I won't forget...................it'll be fun to have you in the choir. I'm hoping to talk SPC Nobody Special into working up an audition piece for next year, too.
