Stupid Warning Labels....
My last post made me think of all the dumb warning labels out there. The warnings are there because either
1-the company thinks we are really stupid or
2-some really stupid person actually tried this. (some moron somewhere in the US is missing an eye due to a mishap with a 7-up bottle.)
The Army is good for this. On the MRE heaters, it says "Do Not Eat Heater" a few years later I noticed that the newer MREs also contained the warning...Do Not Drink the Water. Apparently someone drank the water they used to activate the heater....sigh.
Lawnmowers: do not touch blade while mower is running.
McDs: HOT coffee!
On a Band-Aid box: "For serious injuries, seek medical attention."
children's cough medicine stating "Caution: May cause drowsiness; do not drive or operate heavy machinery"
Seen on a container of salt:
Warning: High in sodium
spray paint: "Do not spray in your face."
bathtub cleaner: For best results, start with clean bathtub before use.
On a container of lighter fluid: WARNING: Contents flammable!
For external use only!" -- On a curling iron.
"Warning: This product can burn eyes." -- On a curling iron.
"Do not use in shower." -- On a hair dryer.
"Do not use while sleeping." -- On a hair dryer.
"Do not drive with sunshield in place." -- On a cardboard sunshield that keeps the sun off the dashboard.
"Please keep out of children." -- On a butcher knife. *OUCH!*
"Do not iron clothes on body." -- On packaging for a Rowenta iron
"Warning: May contain nuts." -- On a package of peanuts.
7 Up-Contents under pressure. Cap may blow off causing eye or other serious injury. Point away from face and people, especially when opening.
So Any other good ones?"
