a place to put random discourses on life
I'll deal with it on St. Patrick's Day.

I love a tree with tons of white lights on it....I have perfected the ability of cramming as many lights as possible on my tree without actually setting it on fire.

This year, I managed to get 15 strands (of 150 lights each) on our 6 1/2 foot tree. That's because one strand shorted it out after I got it on....but I digress. (Besides, you can't tell that a strand is out because there are sooo many lights)

Well, this morning as I plugged in my lights every single one died. Every single one. All 15 strands of lights. All 2250 lights. Simultaniously.

I feel like part of Christmas is dead. Christmas spirit has officially died in my house. No amount of playing Christmas carols could bring it back.

Thank goodness I'm going to my in-laws this week. I hope they have a tree up by then.

And now I will have to start buying more lights...maybe if I get a couple of power strips this won't happen next year....And I might get 20 light sets on the tree!

Man I bet your tree looked awesome....so sorry about the lights frying. Do not be discouraged. There is always next year.

Merry Christmas

Uh...isn't that a fire hazard?

But seriously, I distinctly remember the same thing happening to me one year, and I was so upset I took everything off the tree, went through testing all the lights, and put everything back up again. Was quite drained of Christmas spirit by the time I finished, but it was better than living with a "dead" tree. NOT that I'm recommending you do this...I had no where near 15 strands of lights!

Yes, and my only predicament. Clear (my favorite) or Color(my husbands)! i have won the battle of the lights every year because we had clear. now we don't so I have no good reason not to let him have colored lights.

*shaking head* That is just not going to happen. I have WAY too many ornaments to even contemplate taking them down and putting them back up. it is just oo overwhelming to think about. I'm seriously thinking of just waiting till HW gets home (in MARCH!) to take the tree down.....

Yeah, I was going to do that when SPC Nbs was in Korea, since he got to come home on leave in March. I think I had it down though. I think. I might have to go check on that one...............

Clear for sure....color lights interfere with the beauty of the ornaments...least that is what I tell Zombie.
