a place to put random discourses on life
Happy Halloween

So we had a "Trunk of Treat" at my church last night. For those who don't know what that is, basically everyone shows up and kids trick or treat car to car, instead of house to house. It's great 'cause you don't need to worry about kids getting lost, hurt, or razors in the candy. That being said, sometimes it's a bit rowdy. I *drum roll please* was in charge of it this year and I've spent the last few weeks getting everything worked out. We had tacos to eat before the festivities started and my plan to make it more like a carnival went very smoothly. I asked every family who was passing out candy to think of something the kids could do. They ranged from digging for buried treasure, to "fishing" for candy, a cakewalk and some people even made the kids to pushups! It was a blast and it was much less stress than I expected.

But in all the excitement of planning, I spaced on making a costume for Maddy. So the morning of, I finished her Dorothy dress. No sash, and velcro instead of buttons, but still very cute. Here are a few shots. BTW the yarn is holding her "Toto", I didn't want her to lose it!

And I can't leave the boy out. He was getting on my nerves so there are no Pre-Party shots....apparently he was more than just annoying, he really was tired! HE fell asleep in the 10 minute car ride!

How fun.  I can't believe you "just" finished her dress up in the morning.  She is adorable.   And mr. Ninja turtle is fun too.

HBW and the boys made Halloween special every year by coming up with wild ideas for costumes...the best part was when they got old enough to create their own...and they girls...costumes. Some of my favorites were the TMNT costume Matt made for Annie, the knight in shining armor we collaborated on for Toothace...Mike was a tank one year complete with a main gun tube that kept smacking into doors and people...and of course various vampires and ghouls. Ahhh...such an uplifting time. My babies is so beeeeeeutiful, LH...thanks for the pics and the memories.

I can't believe you "just" finished her dress up in the morning.

This is wonderwoman we is talking about here, mama, the difficult she does immediately...the impossible takes a minute or two longer.

I want to say that I can't believe any child could be so gorgeous, but seeing is believing.

Yeah, I never cease to be amazed at all the stuff you do. I keep trying to find ways to catch you in a lie, but it hasn't happened. It would be so much more understandable to discover that you actually delegate your tasks (including blogging because I have no idea where you find time for this too) while you're out trapezing all day every day. I have to at least believe the trapeze thing because you've posted pictures. Then again, your face isn't so clear in any of the pictures. Hmmm. ::

I wish, oh, how I wish. Saturday was rough....I really wanted to go but my duties as a mom convinced me to stay at home....but I got nothing done because I really wanted to be in the air.
sigh.
