Talent
In praise of my MIL

My MIL, henseforth known as "momma charlie" is one of the most talented women I know. I could heap praise on her for many things, but I want to point out how freaking awesome she is in regards to quilting and sewing.
She taught me the basics, but wholey wow, she is good. I'm so impressed with her ability to pull out seemingly mismatched fabrics and create works of art. For the birth of both my kids, she (and Mamie) graced me with enough quilts, blankets and throws to use a different one every day of the month...with no repeats....that's for BOTH my kids.
She has made me a wedding quilt and then another, elaborate quilt when I redecorated my bedroom. Most recently, she made pillows and a quilt for Maddy's room. check it out...
Madeline is so excited about her "princess bed" She loves the detail and colors...pretty much the fact that it is fantastic. It's what I would have wanted if I ever had the choice as a child.
Thanks mom! You rock!

Gratuitous pic of her dresser.
I was going to add something but Short Term Memory Girl strikes again and I forgot what I was going to add.

I want to sleep in Maddy's room. It's so cute and girly. Your MIL did a great job on the bedding. I love the ribbons tying up the sheers and I love the happy flowers on her dresser. Too cute.
I just discovered two quilt tops in my closet that I made before Brody was born so at least 7 or 8 years ago. I really had literally forgotten about them. I am debating on tackling the quilting myself. A friend finished up my last quilt for me.
My grandma is a great seamstress and I miss having her to hold my hand and help me with every step along the way on sewing projects. That's why I had to use hot glue to put on my hubby's patches on his dress blues for change of command.

I love it! I didn't finish decorating my five year old's room yet. She would love your daughter's room!
