a place to put random discourses on life

So less than a month after my purse was swiped....a charge appeared on my bank account for almost $300.

The bank assured me that it was not related to the recent theft of my purse. I had changed all my cards and put a fraud alert on my credit cards. I shred all my bank information as well. According to them, I did everything that I needed to to protect myself.

Knowing that this was a completely unrelated incident, did not make me feel any better about a second, possibly random, case of fraud. (Apparently they have seen a rise in "random" generated numbers used to charge accounts)

The only plus side? Aside from the fantastic customer service guy, Jared, who dealt with the issue with very little fuss.....is the fact that someone charged my account $300 for Google ad fees.

That means that this idiot stole money from me to pay for some advertising that will point RIGHT TO THEM! Complete idiots.

I still hope they rot.

Or it was a fishing expidition, where they set it up for a ghost party to see if it was caught, before hitting the account for a lot more.

Glad you caught it.

actually, they looked back and we checked past charges. Two other things popped up. One that I had missed and one that never actually posted. Sigh. At least I check a couple times a month. I suppose I should check every week or so....

That's a good idea to note that they might do that.

Awful thing to have happened to you!
