All the random stuff crammed together.
This is just a bunch of random stuff that makes me happy to be a mom....
Connor was playing a friend's house last week. He decided to teach his friend to to trapeze tricks....in the bedroom closet, on the clothes rod. They were frustrated by the shelf that "made us not go upside down" but still had a blast doing tricks. *big grin* I love my kid!
Maddy said prayer before breakfast this morning. Her personality is definetely making an appearance in her prayer style. "Dear Heav'nly Father, Thank thee for my food....*pause*.....Thank thee for Connor's food...... A few days ago she prayed for her puppy, her baby doll, her bed, the flowers on her dress and not bedtime.
Connor has started swimming lessons. He has progressed from fear of getting water in his eyes and nose, to jumping off the diving board, sans lifejacket. (A lifeguard was there to catch him) He is really excited that he can go underwater now.
He even held his breath underwater for 10 seconds! I am so impressed with this little guy.
My father made a cradle for me when Connor was born. Both of my kids used it until they could sit up. It's an old fashioned hanging cradle that rocks. I loaned it to a friend a few months ago and she just returned it. Maddy loved the idea of a "crib", she progressed from putting her babies to sleep in it, to insisting she be allowed to sleep in it! She still fits, so I relented and the cradle is in her room, and she has abandoned her newly purchased bed in favor of the cradle.
And here is a picture of them after church yesterday....cute as can be.
I'm glad my kids are so good. They have been troopers lately. My purse is missing so I had to cancel my credit cards and get all my ids replaced. They are so good about sitting and waiting. It took 2 hours to get a new military id and about 40 minutes to get my replacement drivers license. sigh. Connor sat and read to me for a while and Maddy just did her best. After all, she is only 2.
And last random item....I learned something. If you are adjusting your lawn mower, be very very very careful to NOT touch the engine cover if it has not cooled off yet. Even a glancing brush with the metal will leave you with a painful, blistery burn....... sigh. Why do I learn this stuff the hard way? I already knew this, but it takes the school fo hard knocks to really get it into my head.....sigh.
