once again, not what you think.
Today, my plans changed. Instead of running errands and grocery shoping, I scaled the semi-steep peek of my addition and learned to be a roofer. It's not as complicated as it looks, but it is hard, back breaking labor.
It's dusk right now and there isn't enough light to work, but floodlights arent' as effective as they will be at full dark. So we used that as an excuse to take a break and get some food. I ate breakfast at 7 this morning and I've been busy ever since....the job doesn't allow time for breaks.
Hopefully I can snap a picture of the roof that I shingled and post it. Let me tell you, I have a whole new appreciation for those who do this for a living. The peak is high enough that I dont' look straight down. Just a bit of vertigo there....

Edit at 11 pm : We are done. my body aches in places that I never knew I could hurt....my tail bone?!?! I am really very proud of the job I did. My "Contractor" Steve, said that I was shingling as well and as fast as the pros. Coming from a former roofer, that's a compliment.
I'd like to write more, But I'm going to take more motrin and find a heating pad......
