I have had super long red hair for a really long time, and i want to cut it shorter and dye it blond-ish, but all of my friends tell me not to, so I haven't. Part of me is afraid of the change. I admire your courage to get such a huge change, and you look great now! It's a super cute cut. Maybe I will go through with it as well, we'll see...

and long hair on a woman is another reminder of her difference. (I know men can have long hair and earrings, and I'm showing my socialization and biases, etc. , but since you asked...) I love women who are strong, intelligent, sensitive, heroic, and who look different than men.

I don't begrudge any woman the hair length she chooses, but the long hair is sexier usually (in my eyes). However, any element of sexiness goes right out the window if the woman complains about how difficult long hair is to maintain. At that point, just cut your hair and be happy about it.
