a place to put random discourses on life
Delayed Reaction from my brain cells

Have you ever started to laugh because you just "got" the joke you heard....last week?

I just "got it". My son loves chocolote cake. He usually calls it black cake. He does know how to say chocolote, but he never uses it in conjuction with cake. I've wondered about this and just caught on yesterday. I made brownies and asked him if he wanted some. His response?

"No mom. Those are black....hmmm...Black-ies? Black cake."

*long pause*

"Ummmm.....brown-ies? Yeah, I like brown-ies."

*another long pause. You can see the wheels turning*

"That is black cake. I like BLACK cake. Can I have some? Please, please please?"

The mind of a three year old is a terrible thing to waste.....I love how he makes connections!

I know what you mean. My 3 year old sometimes confuses me too because her speech is not yet fully developed so she says somethings in her own unique way. Sometimes it gets so frustraing for her too and I have to use my older daughter to translate!
