a place to put random discourses on life
Yeah, it's still global warming....

Back story....

1)Today is a big unit function that is so we can celebrate the great, wonderful support that this group gave our soldiers while they were in Iraq. It starts before the kids get out of school, so I have to pick boy up early.

2) Last night, after Boy's Parent Teacher Conference (yeah, he's doing great.) the electrical system on the van went all wonky.  The lights and blinkers didn't' work.  The sliding doors wouldn't open.  Grr.  So we headed over to the Honda dealer to get it checked out.

They couldn't promise how long it would take and they wouldn't give us a loaner vehicle.  Grr.

After sitting for over an hour, a friend of mine popped up.  Apparently she sells cars there.  Go figure.  She was really cool and offered to put us in an overnight test drive of the new Honda Ridgeline.  Rock on!  I have to admit that it is a nice vehicle but I'm not spending $36 for it.

Since we were out late and we have the grand unit thing means I'm pulling boy out early.....we decided to just say the heck with it and not send him to school today. Who cares?  One free day won't hurt him.  ANYWAY, I told you all that so I could tell you this.

We were still trying to hold on the the last dredges of our sleep when we heard the kids wake up.  I've trained Connor to get breakfast for him and his sister so we just listened for any sounds of impending doom and left them to it.  A few minutes later, a bright and cheerful girl comes running through the house yelling, "It snowed!  I'm so excited about all the snow everywhere!"

OBVIOUSLY, she is imagining things.  Isn't that sweet?  Isn't she cute?

About 20 minutes later, boy comes to the door.  "Mom?  Can get my new gloves so I can play in the snow?"  What?!?  We looked out the window and sure enough...it was covered in snow.

So much for global warming.

The kids had put on clothes.  Girl was wearing too short pants and a backwards shirt.  Boy had on sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt.   They had gone outside LIKE THAT to play in the snow.  Boy said, "I didn't' think it would be THAT cold!"  So we got them dressed in weather appropriate clothing and sent them out to play.  Poor girl wasn't used to being that cold!

All in all, it's a good thing that we kept boy home from school on the one day it snowed.  I'd hate to drive the loaner truck in bad weather with lousy drivers all around.  And most of all, all the poor kids who did go to school probably didn't get to play in the morning, won't get to play outside for recess and when they get out of class.....the snow will be gone.

Aww, she is too precious!

Sucks about your van. I hope that gets taken care of quickly. We have 3 vehicles right now so if you need one to get you to and from, let me know (unfortunately, only one is post-ready).

Adrian took the boys to school and Isabella and I slept in so we missed the snow!
