Now it's time for KIDS
Published on September 20, 2007 By lifehappens In Photography
I've shot a few weddings now and I've done family pictures and children in bluebonnets, but this is my first paid studio shot of kids. I have her 5 brothers and sister to shoot later this week and then....drum roll please....a "formal" family group shot. (Can you say stress?)

I know the mom won't like this one, but I thought it was adorable....it's from the "warm-up" shots I took to get her relaxed before we did the posed shots that her mom wanted.

Awwww, that's cute?   What is your lighting setup?  I have some suggestions for avoiding losing her shirt to the background, but I'm not sure what you are working with.

Wow, nice! I actually like that her shirt blends with the background!

I would LOVE any suggestions that you have to offer. Right now I am only using natural light and this shot was indoors (due to weather) but I am thinking about getting some lights next week....would you email me at pamperedstone at yahoo.com? I would love to have advice. I know I should be using a halo light and/or a reflector, but I didn't pull out a reflector because the kids were being crazy.

I shoot in RAW so I can digitally correct it a bit more than this, but I knew her mom didn't want this shot so I didn't bother going processing it that much.

I loved this!

The professional that took my son's graduation pictures shot on of the two of us,  and delibertely let my clothing sort of get lost in the background,  just like this pic you too,  he did it so it would hide my weight!

I started out with a fairly inexpensive light kit with some umbrellas and added a slave flash, which made a world of difference.  What type of flash do you use?

I'll email you when I get a break.  My life just got crazy as we adopted two puppies from a Dachshund rescue.  And, don't expect any pro photos of them- they move too fast.  lol
